Kobo Deluxe
Now for a classic! Kobo Deluxe is a super-intense shooter, where split-second reaction time and an ability to keep track of lots of things at once is necessary to succeed. Gameplay is basic, control your space fighter in 8 directions, shooting forward and backwards, and destroy space fortresses bit by bit in order to reach their core and remove them for good. For each level the fortresses get a bit bigger and enemies a bit more agressive. It might sound like something you would tire of quickly, but Kobo is simply so well tuned and so challenging, you'll keep coming back for another go. I never thought I would enjoy this game as much as I have, but it really is a gameplay masterpiece. The nice retro graphics and smooth engine puts it all together into a great package, and considering that it's available for pretty much every major operating system in existance, there's no reason to not try it. Get it from here.
